Brindavan Gardens in Mysore is one of the most visited parks
in India with more than a million tourists visiting every year. This Park
stands out because it is the first in India to have musical fountain and became
a huge attraction which people from all across the country fell in love with.
I was lucky to visit this garden at a very young age. It was
always received in high prestige when I used to tell my friends during my
school days. Now that I have grown up to be in my mid 20’s, I thought it’s a good
time to visit the place again and relive the memories. So I decided to make this
as a family trip when I was visiting my sister in Bangalore.
The drive from the city of Bangalore to Brindavan Gardens in
Mysore takes about 3 hours. I was looking for a nice place to stay close to the
gardens and came across a beautiful hotel (Royal Orchid) which was the guest
house for royal people in the old times. This hotel is actually built inside
the gardens and gives an amazing view of the whole gardens at morning and
night. It is little expensive, but if you can afford it then it is worth every
penny spent for the stay.
I came here on weekday so that I can avoid the weekend crazy
rush. It was almost late evening when I checked into the hotel, so we thought
of getting some snacks before taking a walk in the garden to enjoy the night
lights and musical fountain show. It started raining the moment I ordered Onion
Bhajjias (dumplings) and Mysore filter coffee. I had this craving of eating the
Bhajjias (dumplings) in the rain and cannot be happier that the craving was fulfilled
at this location.
This garden is located just next to the dam so it gets
beautiful at night to listen to the light sound of winds and water. This place
is a nice getaway for the weekend. I would totally recommend a visit to this
gardens.
